Pitchers and Apple

Still life for Thursday evening painting class. The project was to paint on a 8x10 cardboard after a simple drawing of the shapes and horizon. I gave the class half inch boars hair brushes with the idea that they would not be able to do much detail. The project was to paint the still life as quickly and loosely as possible. The first painting is the one I did to show an example of what I was looking for. I just love the results! The class had mixed feelings about my expectations, but when I told them I was making them paint with this 'giant' brush because I was just trying get them paint 'bad' so my paintings look good they all got a laugh. I think we all enjoyed this session.
